Whether you've never picked up a paintbrush, or you've studied art for years, Ugly Art Studio and Gallery has a course for you. We offer a broad range of courses in a fun and supportive environment with the artwork in our Gallery, providing added inspiration. Art Courses single day workshops and weekend retreats are offered for all levels and interests.
Thursday Evenings - small group classes
Time: 6pm - 9pm
Cost: $40 per week
Students will learn about material choices, complete exercises in colour, values, producing vibrant backgrounds, palette knives, sponges and tools to create different effects. During the six week workshops, students will complete 4 paintings suitable for framing. All materials are provided, however, students may wish to bring in their own paints and brushes to complete paintings and practice at home.
Sunday Afternoons in the Studio - small group classes.
Time: 1pm - 4pm
Cost: $40 per week
If you wish to develop your skills in the challenging medium of watercolour, this beginner level course is designed for you. The course will cover material choices, complete exercises in colour, values, producing backgrounds, using a Lightbox, resists, inks and tools to create beautiful landscape and seascape paintings. All Materials are provided.
Wednesday Morning - Senior Art Club
Time: 10am - 12pm
Cost: $20 per week
Make new artistic connections and spark conversations. Join our " Art Club for Seniors" on Wednesday Mornings 10 am - 12pm in engaging weekly workshops for older adults who want to explore their creative selves. Dive into meaningful conversations weaved with art exploration and creation. Club members will explore a variety of media, textural tools and techniques to capture the essence of our subjects - an approach embraced by many modern artists. We believe that engaging with art and expressing creativity enhances well - being. All materials and instructions are provided.
